Mr Naqui - Hand SurgeonMr Naqui is a Consultant Hand, Wrist & Upper Limb Surgeon. His NHS practice is at Salford Royal Foundation Trust (Hope Hospital), one of the leading teaching hospitals of the University of Manchester. He is the Lead for Clinical Governance & Patient Safety in Trauma & Orthopaedics. He is a Council Member for both the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and the Federation of European Surgical Societies of the Hand (FESSH). He is an examiner for the British Hand diploma and European Board Hand Diploma. He is a committee member for the ‘ BSSH Instructional courses in Hand Surgery ‘. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. Mr Naqui is Chair of the North West Surgical Hand Society and SAS Hand Manchester.

    FESSH Meeting

    Mr Naqui chaired an international meeting concerning the communication strategy for FESSH. The European society is looking at ways to engage the public and fellow professionals with issues pertaining to the Hand. There was active participation with hand surgeons from Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Cyprus and The Netherlands.

    BSSH Spring Meeting Cardiff

    The spring meeting was held in Cardiff. Mr Naqui attended the council meeting prior to the main conference,  where issues affecting British hand surgery were considered. He also had the honour to chair a scientific free paper session, as well as a session on media and communications.
